The Single Malts of Scotland Caol Ila 12 Year Old Reserve Cask is an independently bottled Islay single malt from Elixir Distillers' Reserve Casks range. Reserve Cask releases are assembled from a small parcel of carefully selected casks to create a focused expression of distillery character while preserving a more individual style than a large-scale official bottling. Caol Ila is known for clean, precise peat smoke, citrus, maritime notes and a lightly oily malt texture. At twelve years of age, the smoke has begun to integrate with lemon, vanilla and gentle oak while retaining the distillery's crisp coastal personality. Bottled at 48% ABV, the whisky offers more weight and intensity than standard-strength releases while remaining balanced enough for neat sipping.
