Port Askaig 17 Year Old is a limited-edition Islay single malt matured for at least seventeen years in selected American oak casks. Extended maturation rounds the distillery's peated character into a more composed and layered style, balancing mature smoke with fruit, floral tones, vanilla and coastal minerality. The nose moves through ripe melon, grapes and citrus with bonfire smoke building underneath. On the palate, dense peat and mineral notes frame milk chocolate, red fruit and salted caramel, while the finish turns herbaceous and smoky with a persistent maritime edge. Bottled at 50.5% ABV, this release preserves substantial texture and intensity while allowing the long maturation to show through. It is a richer, more contemplative Port Askaig for sipping slowly.
