Paul Avril Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2010 is a powerful, highly concentrated red from the Southern Rhône. The 2010 vintage is Grenache-led, supported by Mourvèdre, Syrah and small amounts of traditional permitted Rhône varieties. It combines rich dark fruit with floral, savory and spicy complexity while retaining notable freshness and structure.
Testing Note
Intense black raspberry, blackcurrant, kirsch and dark cherry aromas are layered with licorice, flowers, tapenade and warm spices. Full-bodied and concentrated on the palate, with firm tannins, impressive freshness and a long, balanced finish.
