From a quarter hectare of Nebbiolo vines planted in the Coste di Rose cru of Barolo. The grapes were hand-harvested and then fermented in concrete tanks with indigenous yeast. Aged for 15 months in neutral oak casks before bottling. Margherita Otto is a new winery in Monforte d'Alba founded by Alan Manley - a Westchester native who developed a strong love of Nebbiolo. After moving to Piedmont in 2011 he worked with some historic wineries in the region - including the Bartolo Mascarello estate.
