Pierre Boillot stands out as a rare master in both the Cotes de Beaune and the Cotes de Nuits, possessing not only the vineyards, but also extraordinary savoir-faire and craftsmanship. The legacy of this domain came to him from his father Lucien, whose name he still bears today. Together with his brother Louis, Pierre collaborated for many years, but some time ago they went their separate ways, dividing the family estate. Pierre's talents shone even brighter when he gained full control of this domain.\n\nIn addition to maintaining the original cellars in Gevrey-Chambertin, Pierre has led an impeccable renovation of the soils and vines in all his vineyards. The very old vines inherited from his father in the Cotes de Nuits and from his great-grandfather Henri Boillot in Volnay, in the Cotes de Beaune, are truly underrated gems. Among them, the Volnay Les Angles, originally classified among the best crus of Volnay in the 19th century, the Pommard Croix Noires just below Rugiens, the Gevrey Cherbaudes near Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru and the Gevrey Corbeaux next to Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru stand out.\n\nEach wine that comes out of Pierre's cellars is a classic expression of its appellation, ranging from Volnay and Pommard to Gevrey and Nuits-Saint-Georges. Pierre's work in the cellars is oriented towards the creation of transparent wines strongly anchored to the terroir, characterized by purity and finesse. However, he does not hesitate to incorporate a richness, a lush roundness in his reds.
