João Portugal Ramos and his friend Jose Maria Soares Franco, both renowned winemakers in Portugal, started the Duorum project in the Douro in 2007. Here they make this delicious matured Tawny Port. The idea behind D by Duorum is to create a Tawny that everyone can enjoy, easy to taste and easy to drink. A nice introduction to the delicious world of Port wine!\n\nTawny ports are wines usually made from red grapes that are aged in wooden barrels exposing them to gradual oxidation and evaporation. As a result of this oxidation, the wine mellow to a golden-brown color. The exposure to oxygen imparts rich "nutty" flavours to the wine.\n
