It was in 1967 that Aimé Sabon took over his father's vines, which had until then been a cooperative and trader. He built his own cellar on the place called " La Janasse " thus giving birth to Domaine la Janasse , named after the family farm which was located in Courthézon in 1973. The vineyard of La Janasse , originally made up of 15 ha , now extends over 90 ha and is operated by the Sabon family who are constantly acquiring new plots in order to preserve their terroir. Today, the children, Christophe Sabon and Isabelle Sabon, have taken over La Janasse. Domaine La Janasse today produces Chateauneuf du Pape of a rare quality, predominantly Grenache. The wines of La Janasse are fine, balanced and serious with a beautiful depth with a beautiful transcription of the terroir. The dispersion of the plots makes it possible to make original cuvées of very high quality such as Domaine de la Janasse Terre d'Argile or the cuvée Domaine de La Janasse Terre de Buissière .
