Bright straw yellow with persistent, fine mousse. Fragrant nose, of buttered pastry and vanilla. It has something of fresh pineapple, plus peach and a touch of gooseberry. On the palate, golden, full of fruit, with well-integrated mousse. The wine is hearty in the course and shows proper sweetness. Candied stone fruit on the finish.\n \n Producer Information\n Bisol Desiderio & Figli is an Italian wine producer based in Valdobbiadene in the heart of the Veneto wine region. The estate is most recognized for its range of Prosecco wines, namely Conegliano Valdobbiadene Superiore di Cartizze and Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco. Today, the company cultivates its Glera grapes in 20 small vineyard plots located on the steepest slopes between Valdobbiadene and Conegliano. The most important of these sites consists of 3ha (7 acres) planted at the highest altitudes on the Cartizze hill, approximately 300 meters (980ft) above sea level. Bisol Desiderio's Cru collection of wines is produced using the Charmat method. This Prosecco selection includes a Conegliano Valdobbiadene Superiore di Cartizze and several Prosecco di Conegliano-Valdobbiadene Superiore wines ranging in sweetness from Brut to Extra Brut. As the collection's name suggests, these wines are created from grapes sourced from single vineyard or "cru" plots. The Millesimati portfolio of wines is made using the Talento Metodo Classico. These wines are based on Chardonnay, Pinot Nero and Pinot Bianco cultivated on a 4 hectare (10 acre) vineyard plot. The secondary in-bottle fermentation lasts for approximately 36 months. The Bisol Desiderio & Figli Riserva, Rosé and Cuvée wines are topped up with a liqueur d'expédition, but the Pas Dosé does not undergo dosage. The wines are then bottled and left to age for over one month. The first official documentation referencing the Bisol family as winegrowers and producers dates back to 1542. The winery, however, was constructed in 1875. Built deep into the ground, it maintains a constant year-round temperature of 10-15°C (50-59°F) that is ideal for storing the estate's archive of past vintages dating back centuries. Bisol Desiderio & Figli also makes a Passito Duca di Dolle, Grappa di Prosecco and Grappa di Cartizze.
