Producer Information
Veramonte is a family wine producer of the Casablanca Valley in Chile. It was founded by Agustin Huneeus in the late 1990s. Hunees is known as being the first to invest into the Casablanca Valley as a wine region. Here, the proximity to the coastline of the Pacific Ocean is primary factor that creates the terroir for viticulture. Cool afternoon breezes are funnelled by the valley into the vineyards, keeping temperatures moderate and creating cloud cover. Vermonte produce a collection of wines, predominately from red varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Malbec, Carmenere and Syrah. White wines include Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. The wine portfolio is sourced fromvineyards in both the Casablanca Valley and Colchagua wine regions. Organic farming principles are practiced by Vermonte. Today, Vermonte is apart of the Gonzalez Byass group which is one of the most well-known sherry bodegas of Spain.
