The 2021 Raul Perez Mencia Ultreia Saint Jacques Bierzo is a medium-bodied red wine from the Bierzo region of Spain. It’s made from pure Mencía grapes and is a blend of 11 wines selected from 17 made by the winery. The wine is aged for 70% in barrel and 30% in troncoconic oak vats, and is bottled without fining or filtration.The wine has floral and herbaceous aromas with notes of bright red berry fruits, earth, and leather. It also has spicy aromas with hints of underbrush, and juicy red fruit with great vibrancy and length on the palate. The long finish is marked by hints of herbs, coffee bean, and tomato leaf.
