Jammy, floral aromas and flavors give this medium-bodied wine a fresh, easy-going profile. Tasty cherry and berry flavors are lightly braced by mild tannins. In the winery, minimal intervention is accompanied by a range of oak treatments and a diverse range of wines is created at various price points. The company was founded by the Lee family upon the purchase of the historic winery which and been successful prior to Prohibition. Kenwood Vineyards has since gone through a number of ownership changes, notably being bought by the California business F. Korbel and Bros in 1999. In 2014, Kenwood was bought by the international beverage giant Pernod Ricard. During that time production had gone from 300,000 cases in 1999 to more than 550,000 by 2014.
