Bright red cherry color of medium intensity. Intense, deep and complex aromas of ripe red fruits, combined with aromas from the barrel aging (spices, coffee and vanilla). On the palate, it is balanced and elegant, with a high level of freshness and a long, deep and pleasant finish. Producer Information Bodegas Muriel is a Spainish wine producer, located in the Rioja Alavesa wine region, just north of the Ebro river. The company encompasses six different wineries and has multiple wine brands within its portfolio. Wineries are predominately located within the Rioja DOC with the oldest winery of Rioja included within the holdings. The group philosophy of the brands is to produce wines that reflect the terrior in which they are farmed. Annual production of Bodgas Muriel averages around one million cases that are exported worldwide. The wine portfolio is large, encompassing various styles and grape varieties. The flagship range, Muriel offers the gamut of familiar Rioja styles, namely Tempranillo-dominant red wines in joven, crianza, reserva and gran reserva tiers. The Muriel range also has the varietal Selección Tempranillo, a white from Viura and a rosé. The company was established in 1986 by Julián Murúa Entrena, whose father had previously founded and run Bodegas Murúa from 1926 until its sale in 1972.
