To this day, Cantine Florio, founded in 1833 by Vincenzo Florio, maintains the tradition of Marsala, a liqueur wine named after the Sicilian port city of the same name. The house is best known for its fortified Marsala variants. These are mixed with pure alcohol like port wine or sherry and are only produced by a few houses.
