With texture and complexity, fruit for this wine is grown using organic practices on our Arapoto block, high above the Awatere River. Punchy aromatics, herbaceous, uniquely Awatere.
Producer Information
Tohu Wines is a New Zealand wine company and the first to be exclusively Māori-owned. A wide range of wines is produced including classic New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, Albarino, Chardonnay, Merlot, Riesling, Syrah and Pinot Noir. Key Tohu vineyards include the Whenua Awa site in the Awatere Valley and the Whenua Matua site in Nelson. There are four key ranges; Manaaki, the Whenau, Kaumātua and Rewa. The Koru design, a Māori motif, can be seen on most of the labels. The company began as a partnership between the Wakatū Incorporation in New Zealand’s South Island, the Ngāti Rarua Atiawa Iwi Trust and the Wi Pere Trust in Gisborne in New Zealand’s North Island.
