Producer Information
The Bertani family has the longest tradition of producing wines in Verona Italy dating back the 17th century. In 1800s the Bertani brothers started to produce the first Verona dry wines exported to more than 20 nations supplying the Italian and British Royal families. In 1920s we started to produce our early Amarones were exported worldwide under the name of “Recioto Tipo Secco” and “Acinatico”. Produces seven estate grown wines from three valleys in Verona, Veneto, Italy. These are fine boutique wines with a distinctive elegant and classic style. Our work is terroir focused and consistent with our family’s heritage in expressing the identity of the Amarone docg, Valpolicella and Soave docs. Amarone Classico Riserva The Amarone is obtained using the traditional appassimento method, a natural drying process of Corvina, Rondinella and Corvinone grapes, and long barrel aging, giving it a unique and immediately recognizable taste. It represents the full expression of the Veronese tradition and the more than century-old family heritage. Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore DOC This elegant and complex Valpolicella continues the family tradition of the Ripasso method, used in the 1850s. The style is a consistent expression of the indigenous Corvina, Rondinella and Corvinone grapes and terroir of the area. Valpolicella Classico Superiore Our Valpolicella Classico Superiore is produced entirely from native Veronese Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella varietals in low-yield vineyards at our historic estate in Arbizzano di Negrar, Verona. After a long maceration and fermentation, the wine is aged for at least 14 months in traditional large oak barrels, followed by a short refinement in the bottle. Decima Aurea Merlot IGT Verona This single-vineyard Merlot obtains its unique character through the selection of three clones, low-yield and high-density cultivation at 9,500 vines per hectare. The vinification is carried out through a partial appassimento of the grapes with further refining in barrels over a period of 14 months. Pragal IGT Verona Lepiga Soave DOC Torre Pieve Chardonnay.
