Warm black plums, black cherries and mulberries notes with touches of eucalyptus, cigar box, tapenade and truffles. Medium to full-bodied with impressive intensity and a pleasantly chewy frame, it finishes on a lingering savory note.
Producer Information
Hayfork Wine Co. was established in 2006 by Haley Wight and Erik Dodd, a husband and wife, winemaker and farmer team. “We craft wines from Cabernet Sauvignon grown on the historic Lewelling Ranch, located just west of St. Helena,” says Erik. “We farm 90 acres and use only about 10% of what we grow for the family wines. The rest of the highly soughtafter fruit is sold to eager wineries. Our farming heritage runs deep, as Haley’s great-great-great grandfather John Lewelling, a horticulturist by trade, settled the family ranch in 1864. We strongly believe that the hands of the farmer in the field lay the foundation necessary to produce a quality wine. Our Cabernets possess the richness of fruit that the Lewelling Ranch is known for, but above all else we strive for balance in our wines.”
