Soft, lush tannins massage the palate, growing grippier with time, while boisterous acidity releases blackberry, espresso and crushed slate flavors.
Producer Information
Hope Family Wines is a Californian wine producer based in the Paso Robles region. It produces wines under several brands from classic California grape varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel and Chardonnay. The company began life in 1978, when the Hope family moved to Paso Robles and planted apple trees and grapevines on a property in the Templeton Gap. They began selling grapes to Chuck Wagner at Caymus for his Liberty School brand, and eventually bought the brand off him in 1995. Hope Family have expanded considerably since, and now work with 50 contract growers across California, particularly along the Central Coast. The Treana range has its own winery and comprises a Cabernet – Syrah blend, a Marsanne – Viognier blend, and a recently introduced Chardonnay. Another red wine, the Turk, is released to a small market. The Austin Hope range is made in smaller lots and includes a Syrah, a Grenache and a Roussanne from the Paso Robles AVA. Liberty School is Hope Family’s entry-level range, which is made up of varietal wines from the Central Coast AVA.
