Medium to full-bodied, ripe, supple and sexy, it`s loaded with notions of black raspberry, blackberry, crushed rock, smoked meats and licorice.
Producer Information
Just graduated from the Agronomy School of Montpellier, Jean Orliac discovered the fabulous terroir of the cliffs of Hortus and Pic Saint Loup. He then believed in the strong potential of this terroir, and began to clear old abandoned plots. 40 years later, the reputation of this estate has made this Pic Saint-Loup wine region one of the best in Languedoc-Roussillon . Today, the 3 children, François, Marie and Yves, returned to their native land, each participate in their own way in the development of this area and are committed to ensuring that their parents’ work continues. In both red and white, the “Grandes Cuvées” of the Domaine de l’Hortus come from the most beautiful terroirs of the property and contribute, cuvée after cuvée, to the reputation of this magnificent appellation of Pic Saint Loup.
