In May of 2000 Laurent Montalieu and Danielle Andrus Montalieu purchased an 80- acre estate as their wedding gift to each other and registered with premium nurseries for six different clones of Pinot Noir vines as wedding gifts. They named the vineyard Domaine Danielle Laurent. While waiting for their own vines to mature, the Montalieus purchased fruit from various vineyards, and named their new label Sol?na. A combination of two names that signify the sun and the moon, after their daughter.

Tasting Notes
Though this wine is still quite young, all the right components for improvement are in place and in balance. Pretty rose petal and raspberry aromas lead into a palate fresh with tart cherry and raspberry jam. The acidity puts a lemony zing to the finish, and the use of new oak has been pulled way back, down to just 10% over 11 months.
