While taut and intensely mineral, there’s a core of juicy grapefruit and honeydew flavors that shine brightly throughout this Riesling. Dry in style, it finishes tightly on zesty lime-pith note. Producer Information Albrecht Schneider’s maxim has always been absolute devotion to his vineyards and wines, whilst marketing was considered less important. The estate has been owned by the Schneider family for 7 generations, and at vintage time, several generations are at work. 15 hectares in Nierstein belong to the estate, over 40% of which are Riesling. Red sandstone soils are predominant in the sites on the Hipping side of the town, facing the river, which yield rich and flavourful wines, whilst limestone is on the other side with the Paterberg slope. The old underground cellars with wooden casks provide ideal conditions for the traditional production methods. 1995 marked a step forward for the estate when more spacious underground cellars and warehousing facilities were purchased in Nierstein.
