Additional Information

Elk Cove Vineyards is one of Oregon’s oldest and most respected wine producers. Established in 1974 by Pat and Joe Campbell on a secluded property in North Willamette Valley, they only produce Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc and Riesling. The first vineyards were planted on steep south facing slopes of the Chehelam Mountains to Willakenzie silty loam and Laurelwood red-shot volcanic soils. The 600 acre, sustainably farmed estate is divided into four major parcels: La Boheme, Roosevelt, Mount Richmond and Five Mountain Vineyard.Winemaker Adam Campbell continues the family tradition of noninterventionist winemaking through proper site selection, meticulous vine management and low yields. He hand selects only the finest French oak barrels ? three year old, air dried Burgundian coopered barrels, with medium toast and tight grain. The Pinot Noirs are racked by gravity from the fermentors to French oak barrels in the cellar.
