RP92 Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
The 2019 Pinot Noir from Crossbarn is a tremendous value and the best iteration I’ve tasted so far. Paul Hobbs has been steadily increasing estate fruit and decreasing new oak for this 13,260-case cuvée. This vintage contains 85% to 90% estate fruit and was aged almost entirely in large, neutral vessels. Medium ruby-purple in color, it has pure aromas of cranberries and blackberries laced with earthy and spicy undertones. The palate is light-bodied, fresh and bright with transparent fruit framed by just enough anchoring texture.
