Additional Information

Big Basin Vineyards was founded in 1998 on an historic site in the Santa Cruz Mountains next to Big Basin Redwoods State Park. The old ranch property was first settled in the late 1800s. Tasting Notes

In 2013, Mother Nature provided us with what easily could be our highest quality and yielding year for Syrah to date (though not high by any measure at just over 2 tons to the acre). Of course, it remains to be seen how good the quality is with the minute yields of our 2015 vintage fruit. Our 2013 Santa Cruz Mountains Syrah is crafted primarily with fruit from the same vineyard blocks that produce our Rattlesnake Rock and Old Corral estate cuv?es. The floral character and beautiful texture of this wine expresses these vineyards emphatically.
