A warm welcome to Petracs, only in its second vintage. Definitely the big brother of Mandolás. The volcanic soils of the vineyard are densely planted at 7,000 vines per hectare, with tall bush vines. An individual expression of Furmint, very perfumed with a vividly pure palate. Fermented in French and Hungarian oak, one-third new, and aged for a further 12 months on lees with little batonnage. Winemaker Gonzalo Iturriaga emphasises that stainless steel can give a metallic edge to the palate, while oak encourages cremosity.
