The aromas are of white peaches, pear and lemon zest. The flavors are delicate, bright and alive on the tongue. Korbel Prosecco is finished with an Extra Dry level of sweetness, which softens the wine without making it noticeably sweet.\n \n Producer Information\n Korbel Champagne Cellars is a winery in Sonoma County. Well known for sparkling wines, Korbel makes a range of still wines from various international varieties like Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon. Korbel also produces an extensive range of brandies. The business was founded in 1882 by the three Korbel brothers, immigrants from what was then known as Bohemia in Europe. They began making sparkling wine using the traditional French méthode champenoise. This remains a cornerstone of production. The most expensive sparkling wine on the list, Le Premier, a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The Korbel Brut is the most popular wine in the range, made from a range of varieties, the wine is intended to be reasonably priced and consistent in favour. The winery was bought in 1954 by Adolph Heck and by 1984 it was under the ownership of Adolph's son, Gary. Under the Heck's ownership, annual production increased from 150,000 cases to 1.3 million and by 2011, Korbel had become the twelfth largest producer in the US. Champagne is a protected name under the rules of the French sparkling wine appellation. Howvever, the lengthy history of Korbel protects its use of the "Champagne" label as this practice predates the introduction of those laws. Korbel sparkling wines have been served at six US presidential inaugurations and Korbel brandy is particularly appreciated in the state of Wisconsin. Korbel Champagne Cellars also founded the Russian River Brewing Company as a venture into beer, although today they no longer own it.
