A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese and Merlot, this has aromas of black-skinned berries, Mediterranean scrub and baking spice. On the medium-bodied palate, polished tannins accompany juicy blackberry, tobacco and white pepper.\n \n Producer Information\n Bocelli Family Wines is a Tuscan wine estate that has been owned and run by the Bocelli family for almost 300 years. Winemaking is not the sole occupation of the Bocelli family – it is also boasts the globally renowned opera singer Andrea Bocelli. The estate produces a selection of wine from the classic Tuscan grape varieties including the likes of Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Colorino, Malvasia, and Trebbiano. The winery is situated in Lajatico in the province of Pisa, and dates back to 1730. Originally winemaking was just one aspect of the estate, but this all changed in the 1930s under the management of Alcide Bocelli, who began to expand and develop the vineyards. The flagship wine from th portfolio is a Super Tuscan blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon called Alcide. The Sangiovese grapes are sourced from vineyard plots in both Morellino and Lajatico, the latter planted some 70 years ago. Lajatico is also the birthplace of the estate's varietal Cabernet Sauvignon wine, In Canto, which is produced from 10-year-old vines. Other notable wines include a Prosecco from the northeastern region of Veneto, produced in collaboration with selected growers from the region.
