Protos’ 27 in a homage to the eleven visionaries that founded Protos in 1927. The dream is more alive today than ever before with Protos 27’, a unique wine made of 100% Tinto Fino grapes. Bodega Protos is the oldest wine company in Spain’s Ribera Del Duero. Wine experts nurture the 1,400ha vineyards throughout the growing process to ensure its high quality. Protos 27 is made using the finest grapes from a variety of vineyards in the Burgos Province and aged for 16 months in new French oak barrels. Intense cherry red in colour, with violet hues resulting in a very vivid and bright wine. It has fresh scents and original aromas of ripe black fruits, sweet spices and fine toasted notes. Protos ’27 is very balanced and easy-to-drink wine, with round tannins and a long, pleasant finish. BBQ, lamb, stews and even seafood with strong sauces suit the round tannins of Protos 27. The company’s stunning main winery in Peñafiel, designed by famous British architect Sir Richard Rogers and opened in 2008, hosts over 40,000 visitors a year, making it one of the region’s most-visited tourist attractions.
