A beautiful nose of violets, lavender, dried strawberries, hibiscus and a touch of vanilla. Medium-bodied with fine tannin, pretty acidity crunch and a tangy finish.\n \n Producer Information\n Il Borro is an Italian wine producer, located in the Valdearno hills of Tuscany The estate's vineyards are planted primarily to international grape varieties including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Chardonnay and Petit Verdot, as well as Tuscany's most esteemed variety, Sangiovese. Il Borro's vineyards cover 45 hectares (111 acres) of land and were planted in 1997. Here, a combination of sandstone and sandy-clay soils provide ideal terroir for viticulture. An altitude between 300 and 500 meters (984 to 1640 feet) above sea level exposes the vineyards to prevailing winds to encourage sturdy growth and deep root systems. The top wines in Il Borro's portfolio include Alessandro dal Borro, a varietal Syrah that is aged for two years in oak, and Bolle di Borro, a traditional method rosé made from 100 percent Sangiovese, aged for 48 months on the lees. The remaining portfolio is mainly composed of a collection of Toscana IGT wines.
