It comes from Alto Adige in the north of Italy and is a lightly coloured wine that has gentle aromas and flavours of perfume and red fruits. Some hints of pomegranate, violet and almonds are in the mix. The height difference of almost 700m in a wine-growing village is unique in Europe. In the breathtakingly steep vineyards, every grape variety finds its optimal location, its ideal terroir. The low altitudes are among the warmest in South Tyrol and are ideal for heavy red wines. The white wines find ideal conditions a short distance higher up. The young, dynamic team of the southernmost winery in South Tyrol, led by President Andreas Kofler, has aligned the winery with sustainable management. Thanks to the 190 small-scale family businesses that cultivate 190 hectares of vineyards, the best grape material can be selected for each location. This and the careful cultivation of the individual vineyards create wines with strong character that reflect the different soils and locations. This creates fresh, mineral white wines from high altitudes and long-lasting red wines from warm locations.
