Domaine des Champs Fleuris is located in the embrace of Saumur-Champigny in the tiny Loire Valley village of Turquant. Not only a talented winemaker but also Rétiveau is an experienced boatman who knows every meander of the River Loire. Local terroir around the winery is very important. For instance, Tufa, travertine, is a significant for the local territory and its landscape. The flow of spring water is the main reason that creates this type of limestone. Troglos, cave dwellings, have been dug into the tufa. Particularly these characterful spaces are used as wine cellars. The vineyards are located in several appellations and cover a total of 26 hectares, in the meantime the vineyards situated in the villages of Turquant and Montsoreau. In the Saumur – Champigny appellation Rétiveau grows Cabernet Franc. About ten percent of the domain is Chenin. The latter produces wine in the Saumur Blanc and Saumur brut appellations. The Rosé Attitude is one of the jewels of the Rosé de Loire appellation. It’s made from Cabernet Franc grapes grown on clay-limestone soil on slopes overlooking the Loire. There are two excellent sparkling wines that winery produce – a white and a rosé.
