Almost overwhelming on the nose and very densely interwoven with intense fruity notes of yellow, ripe fruit, some honey and nashi pear. This Chardonnay is a little lighter on the palate, but it is powerful and intense. Fruit and wood notes are balanced with their compact fullness. A good sparring partner for the Easter barbecue with juicy entrecote in the garden or corn-fed chicken from the oven with roasted vegetables. \n Producer Information \n Bogle Vineyards is one of the largest wine producers in the USA. The first vines were planted by farmers Warren Bogle and his son Chris in 1968 as a side project. The first vines were planted on 20 acres (eight hectares) of land in Clarksburg, in California's Sacramento Delta. Initially selling the grapes to other wineries, Bogle Vineyards became a winery in its own right in 1979. Bogle is now one of the top 15 largest wineries in the US, producing over a million cases of wine a year. It is still family-owned and has found considerable success since the late 1990s, offering quality wines at reasonable prices. Bogle farms more than 1500 acres (600 hectares) of estate vineyards with the majority around Clarksburg and some in Lodi. In addition to this, fruit is brought in from growers all over California, including in El Dorado, Amador, Russian River Valley and Mendocino County, among others. Bogle's focus is on classic California grape varieties including Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Zinfandel and Petite Sirah. There are also a handful of blended wines, and a fortified dessert wine made in the style of Port.
