Ruby red in color the wine has a full and intense fragrance with hints of grapefruit and red fruits which bring to mind cherries and raspberries. On the palate, the wine is smooth and well-balanced. The finish is characterized by gentle tannins and the persistent flavor of the grapes which make it so delicious and easy to drink. \n \n Producer Information \n Bindi Sergardi is a Tuscan wine producer, located in the province of Siena. Its properties span a total of around 1000 hectares (2471 acres) of land. Alessandra Casini Bindi Sergardi represents the 23rd generation of the Bindi Sergardi family's ownership. She manages the family estates in Chianti Classico and Chianti Colli Senesi. Tenuta Mocenni is located near the medieval village of Vagliagli. The property dates back to 1067, and was constructed as a fortress to defend Siena. It is a 230-hectare (568-acre) estate planted with 60ha (148 acres) of vines, mainly Sangiovese with some Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The vineyards are located at an elevation of 500 meters (1600ft) on galestro (marl-limestone) and albarese (clay-limestone) soils. The estate sits within the Chianti Classico zone and produces four cru bottlings of Chianti Classico DOCG and a Cabernet Sauvignon Super Tuscan. The flagship wine is Mocenna 89 Gran Selezione Chianti Classico – the number refers to the vineyard parcel used. Tenuta I Colli is an estate formed from a hamlet built by the Bindi Sergardi family in the late 1400s. There are 30ha (74 acres) of vineyards, located in both Chianti Classico and Chianti Colli Senesi. Soils are Albarese marl-limestone. Sangiovese is the principal variety, while the Super Tuscan is made from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. A total of seven wines are bottled, headed by a Chianti Classico Riserva. The Marcianella estate lies in the southern part of the province of Siena in the municipality of Chiusi. It has been the site of vineyards for at least 2500 years. The property covers 500ha (1235 acres), with 30ha (74 acres) planted within both the Chianti and Chianti Colli Senesi zones. Other wines include a Toscana Rosso IGT. Soils are sand and clay, and the principal varieties are Sangiovese, Merlot and Syrah.
