Impressive and charming nose with balanced and rich flavors. Great elegance and length on the finish. \n \n Producer Information \n Araldica is one a group of wine companies (Gruppo Araldica Castalvero) in the Piemonte region of northern Italy. It cultivates 900 hectares of vineyards across Monferrato, Langhe and Roero. The business was founded in 1954 as a cooperative of 50 wine producers, named Antica Contea di Castalvero. The original offices in Castel Boglione (formerly Castalvero) still serve as the group headquarters. A wide number of wines are produced under the Araldica banner, with the best parcels going into the Alasia premium range. White wines include Roero Arneis, Gavi and Piemonte DOC Chardonnay. Red wines include several Barbera appellations, Dolcetto d'Asti, Barolo and Barbaresco. Asti, Moscato d'Asti and Brachetto d'Acqui are also bottled. The portfolio also includes other sub brands and single estate wines. Cascinone, a property in Acqui Terme was acquired in 1999. It boasts 120 hectares of vines in a single plot, and is the group's flagship property for Barbera d'Asti and Alta Langa Metodo Classico. In 2002 the group acquired the 26 hectare Gavi estate La Battistina. A year later it set up Adria Vini, a subsidiary for wines from around Italy. Then in 2013 it became the largest shareholder of leading UK distributor Boutinot, with whom several brands have been developed. This prompted the organisation of the group in its current form. In 2016 Tenuta Santa Seraffa was added. Located on a cliff overlooking the Scrivia valley, it produces Gavi di Gavi DOCG white wines.
