In the beautiful country of Véron, cradled between the Loire and the Vienne, the Olga Raffault estate has Olga_raffault.jpgpassed on its know-how of making its Chinon wines for four generations! Olga Raffault has dedicated all her life to these landscapes that she loved so much and always knew how to share her love of wine! But how could Olga, so passionate, guarantee the legacy of these reflexes at the service of quality without the physical strength of men? Her husband, Pierre Raffault, never counted his efforts to grow the house until 1947 year of his brutal death, while the vine for which he had been so careful, had let him hope for the finest vintage of the century! Olga, then a mother of two young children, aware of her duty, managed to complete this exceptional vintage with the help of Ernest ZENNINGER, a German prisoner in the service of exploitation since the end of the war.
This courageous and generous German had not understood this war and very early found him a sense through the deep friendship he wove with his "Protectors" family RAFFAULT, with whom he discovered a new vocation: to consecrate his life to the vineyard and the wine, and to support Olga and her two children, a promise he made at the last moments of Pierre Raffault ... Jean Raffault, son of Olga, remembers this warm complicity shared with Ernest, who has made it possible to forge all his Vigneron experience and to perpetuate the Domain by combining tradition and modernism with the precious help of his wife Irma Raffault.
Today, Olga's granddaughter, Sylvie Raffault and her husband Eric de la Vigerie have taken over and intend to maintain the good recipes of the past, a real family patrimony, by combining modernity and tradition with the efficiency of a always attentive to the requirements of a national and international clientele.
