The 50/50 has a fresh peppery nose with ample black fruit laced with liquorices, the palate is medium-bodied with a dry entry, firm tannins, perhaps just lacking a little flesh towards the finish.\n \n Producer Information\n \n Domaine Anne Gros & Jean-Paul Tollot is the Languedoc estate of the two leading Burgundy winemakers for which it is named. It is located in Cazelles, a hamlet within the Minervois appellation. A selection of red wines are produced from the Grenache, Syrah, Carignan, Cinsault and Marselan varieties. The are known for their finesse and precision. They are designated as Minervois, as Minervois Cazelles, or as IGP Pays Côtes du Brian. Anne Gros also runs her eponymous estate in Vosne-Romanée which she took over from her father in 1995. Her partner Jean-Paul Tollot is from the family of Domaine Tollot-Beaut in Chorey-lès-Beaune. They sought a location to make wine together. Minervois offered varied terroir, sites at higher alitudes similar to Vosne-Romanée, and very old vines.
