The winery, located in the town of Valdobbiadene, was founded in 1887 by Francesco Mionetto and in 1961 was taken over by Francesco's grandsons, Giovanni and Sergio Mionetto. Mionetto is best known for its production of Prosecco from the grape variety Glera and is exported all over the world. Mionetto produces Prosecco via the Charmat method, which is also known as the tank method. The process takes approximately 60 days and results in fresh, sparkling wines. Mionetto has been working with growers for decades to produce a range of Prosecco wines and a range of other sparkling wines from appellations in the Veneto wine region.
