Located on the idyllic island of Sardegna, Silvio Carta began making wines from local varietals in the 1950’s, and by the 1970’s was distilling liqueurs, aperitifs, and vermouth for the local market. The business remains in the family, with Silvio’s son Elio Carta now running the distillery with his nephews. At 91 years old, Silvio still oversees the farming of the lemons and botanicals used to make the liqueurs and vermouths. Made only from local ingredients, these products are of the highest quality, but still channel the easy going Sardinian lifestyle. \n
