Aromatic notes of freshness and elegance. Through a careful selection of the grapes on the vineyard and the use of winemaking techniques that preserve the aromatic heritage of the vine, the Umani Ronchi house has been able to express all the best notes of Verdicchio.\n \n Producer Information\n Umani Ronchi is an Italian wine producer with estate vineyards situated throughout the Marche and Abruzzo subregions. The Bianchi-Bernetti family founded the estate in 1959 and has since specialized in the production of Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi, Montepulciano d'Abruzzo and Rosso Conero DOC wines. The estate was founded in the municipality of Cupramontana, in the heart of the Castelli di Jesi region. From the 1970s onwards, Umani Ronchi has seen significant investment and development in its vineyards, particularly with the replanting of 85 percent of its original vines. During this extended period of renovation the estate placed particular importance on the cultivation of the Verdicchio, Rosso Conero, Pecorino and Lacrima di Morro d'Alba grape varieties. Today, Umani Ronchi cultivates approximately 210 hectares (520 acres) of vineyards spanning the Castelli, Conero and Abruzzo wine regions. There are six vineyards in Castelli dei Jesi planted to Verdicchio, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc that provide most of the grapes for Umani Ronchi's still, sparkling and sweet white wines. In Conero, Umani Ronchi has devoted its hillside vineyards to the cultivation of its four red wine grape varieties: Montepulciano, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sangiovese. Further south in the Abruzzo wine region lie the the 27-ha (67-acre) Roseto degli Abruzzi and Morro d'Oro vineyards, both planted to Montepulciano, with smaller plantings of Trebbiano and Pecorino.
