The influence of the sea and soil combined with slow ripening make for a deep ruby-red wine with a touch of violet and great aromatic complexity. The nose evokes ripe fruits with elegant notes of vanilla and spice from the well-integrated oak.\n \n Producer Information\n Garcés Silva is a well-regarded Chilean wine estate located in the Leyda Valley next to the Coastal Mountains and the Pacific Ocean, some 100km (60 miles) west of the Chilean capital (and the location of the winery's head office) Santiago. The vineyards benefit from a cool climate thanks to the Humboldt Current in the Pacific which can keep temperatures under 24 degrees Celsius, even during the summer months. The Garcés Silva family planted the first vineyards in 1999 specializing in the grape varieties, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir. Although this was their first wine venture, the family has an extensive background in agriculture. Their first winery was built in 2002 and two core ranges followed suit: the Amayna and then the Boya. There are 27 hectares of vineyards dedicated to the Amayna range, which includes both stainless steel- and barrel-fermented Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Syrah. The focus here is on ripe fruit and the ability to age. The Boya range is made from 22 hectares of vineyards and consists of a Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah and a Rosé. It embraces a young fresh flavor profile that makes the most of the coastal climate. Futher labels include Catalino – an old vines project in the Maule Valley – and the Garden Blend red and white wines.
