DESCRIPTION

The Sangiovese grape from Emilia-Romagna produces wine that matures more quickly and possesses a richer fragrance than Tuscan Sangiovese. Umberto Cesari Sangiovese Riserva is vinified at low temperatures in stainless steel and aged in Slavonian and Italian oak barrels. An aromatic blend with notes of violet, this dry wine has a rich taste balanced with slight tannins and a harmonious, long finish. This wine is ideal with red meats and aged cheeses.

TESTING NOTE

Hailing from vineyards throughout the region, the soil varies but is predominately clay and of medium consistency. Planted to a clone of Sangiovese native to the region, Sangiovese di Romagna matures more quickly and is more fragrant.
