Brambleberry, walnut and bark with some black truffle, following through to a medium to full body with firm, solid tannins and a medium finish.\n \n Producer Information\n Casanova di Neri is a wine producer located in Montalcino, Tuscany. It is famous for its Brunello di Montalcino wines, but makes a range of other wines, including a premium Cabernet Sauvignon and an interesting blend of Vermentino and Grechetto. The estate was founded in 1971 by Giovanni Neri and remains family-owned to this day. There are 63 hectares (155 acres) of vines on the property, planted on soils made up of alluvial stone, degraded rock, iron and magnesium with various microclimates. There are seven other vineyards within the company's holdings that are all spread throughout Montalcino region. The vineyards are mainly planted to Sangiovese to provide grapes for the collection of single-vineyard wines, standard Brunellos as well as a Rosso di Montalcino. Across all of the vineyards, the Sangiovese grapes planted are sourced from a single clone from the Cerrealto vineyard allowing the wine collection to exhibit the terroir of each site. The Casanova di Neri winery is mostly underground to create a cool climate and keep the need for refridgeration low. It also creates the ideal temperature and humidity for aging wine in the cellar. It has been constructed across three different levels to take advantage of gravity during the winemaking process.
