Pale yellow, steel edges (white gold). Medium intensity on the nose. Elegant floral notes wrapped in stone fruit - peach, apricot -, golden apple, lemon peel, pineapple. Notes of bakery, nuts such as almonds and some balsamic such as fennel and bay leaf. Round entrance on the palate, medium enveloping body, crispy carbonic texture. In the retro-nasal route citrus memories return, the apple, the almond. Very refreshing and long finish.\n \n Producer Information\n Bodegas Gramona is a family-owned Cava house in the northeastern Spanish region of Catalonia. It was founded in the 19th Century in Penèdes and today, produces an extensive wine portfolio of both still and sparkling. The wine portfolio contains sparkling produced under the Cava DO and still wines under the Penèdes DO. The major Cava varieties Xarel-lo, Macabeo and Parellada are dominant but the Champagne varieties Chardonnay and Pinot Noir have been used in small quantities in blends. Xarel-lo is also dominant in the still wines but other varieties feature too, significantly Sauvignon Blanc. Gramona have constructed a new state-of-the-art gravity winery, a purpose built facility that allows for the movement of juice and wine through gravity to aid the preservation of phenolics. All initial innoculations are spontaneous with wild yeasts employed for the fermentation process. Gramona has buillt a reputation for uncommonly long bottle-aging of wines prior to release. Gramona has a long vinification history with the first winery established in 1881 named Celler Battle. In 1921, two winemaking families from the region came together through marriage and Gramona started appearing on labels shortly after. Today, the company remains within the family after multiple generations of ownership and wine production.
