Quite intense ruby red. On the palate it is broad and deep, medium-bodied, juicy and dripping with blackberries and cherries. The tannins are light and velvety and the herbaceous and earthy flavors balance the fruit for a soft and enveloping sip. Acidity tends to be low. To accompany with typical local dishes such as a mixed platter of cold cuts and cheeses, salami with vinegar or brovada and muset. Otherwise with red meats, roasts, poultry and semi-aged cheeses.
