Very pale yellow-green, silver reflections. Attractive bouquet with fresh Asian pear, blossom and white apple in the background. Juicy palate, white fruit, freshly structured, elegant with subtle mango sweetness on the finish.\n \n Producer Information\n Pierre Girardin (also known as Pierre-Vincent Girardin or "PVG") is a wine producer based in the town of Meursault, in the Côte de Beaune subregion of Burgundy. The domaine, however, produces a wide range of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay-based wines, from basic Bourgogne labels to several grands crus from across the region, including the Côte de Nuits. Although himself a new face in the wine-producing community in the area, Girardin is the son of well-respected vigneron Vincent Girardin, who sold his eponymous domaine in 2012. Benefitting from his father's extensive contacts in Burgundy, as well as a small collection of top plots across the region that were not included in the 2012 sale, Girardin fils (son) has been able to establish an already stellar portfolio. Wines produced include Le Montrachet, Corton-Charlemagne, a Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatières (although this is a village-level wine, not a premier cru), a Vosne-Romanée Les Suchots and a range of Meursault premiers crus, among numerous other high-profile sites (including a Clos de Vougeot and a Gevrey-Chambertin). Viticulture is run on organic principles while the influence of new oak is less intrusive in the wines with the use of specially commissioned, larger-format 456L barrels (the equivalent to two standard Burgundy "pièces", or barriques).
