Tons is ruby red in color with violet tones. The nose is dominated by aromas of strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, and prunes, blending beautifully with spicy secondary aromas from barrel aging. Well-balanced acidity, soft and ripe tannins, and a persistent finish result in an elegant wine.\n \n Producer Information\n \n Two winemakers who have marked the history of wine in Portugal in recent decades, in two regions that the world recognizes as having high quality and personality, Douro and Alentejo, meet again in a project dreamed up and realized in the ancient Douro vineyards. “Duorum†(Latin expression meaning “of twoâ€), was born in January 2007 and expresses the desire of João Portugal Ramos and José Maria Soares Franco to combine their professional activities as winemakers in a Douro wine production project with unique characteristics and international dimension. The vineyards, located in the regions of Cima Corgo and Douro Superior, two exceptional and protected terroirs, are built on terraces at different altitudes, between 150-500 meters, and only with native grape varieties. In Cima Corgo, there is low rainfall of around 600 mm, high temperatures and thermal amplitudes during the vine cycle. In turn, the Superior Douro is less rugged, with generally gentler slopes and shallower valleys. The climate is typically Mediterranean, with the highest summer temperatures, and annual rainfall close to 400mm. Both the winery and the vineyards are located in the Douro Demarcated Region, one of the oldest in the world and whose scenic and cultural value was recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Additionally, Duorum properties are located in two locations that are part of the European Nature Conservation Network (Natura 2000 Network), the Special Protection Zone for Birds of Douro Internacional and Vale do Ãgueda and the Site of Community Importance of Douro Internacional . The environmental and viticultural conduct adopted by DUORUM led to the recognition of the ICNB (Institute for Nature Conservation and Biodiversity) and its consequent membership in the European Business & Biodiversity initiative, an international network of companies that integrates concerns with nature and biodiversity. This commitment has become an essential tool to achieve the high environmental standards established by DUORUM.
