Aromas of ripe berries with some spice and dried fruit, such as figs or prunes, turning then to flowers. Full-bodied and round with layers of fruit and interspersed, fine tannins. It’s very flavorful and intense. Big, but not overpowering.\n Producer Information\n Viña Vik is a Chilean wine producer, located in the Cachapoal Valley. The company was founded in 2004, by Norwegian entrepreneurs Carrie Vik and Alex Vik. The Vina Vik wine portfolio is a small collection of four Bordeaux-style red wines. The portfolio is led by the Vik and Milla Cala duo, both a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Carménère with small additions of Merlot. Both will happily cellar for 15 to 20 years. In 2020, Viña Vik released a rosé as a part of its La Piu Belle range which is created as a homage to the art of winemaking. In 2022, the brand expanded with the addition of a Champagne into the La Piu Belle range. The 70-percent Chardonnay and 30-percent Pinot Noir cuveé was produced in 2009 vintage and after 12 years of aging has reached optimal maturity for release. Vik vinyards are located amoungst the foothills of the Andes mountains and are planted across 12 small valleys creating multiple microclimates and terroirs. 808 acres (327 ha) of company vineyards are grown here to a combination of Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenere, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Syrah. Located between the Pacific Ocean and the snow-topped mountains, year-round cool temperatures allows for grapes to ripen whilst retaining acidity levels. The winery was architecturally designed by Smiljan Radic to have a minimal impact on the landscape. It features a large, rooftop "mirror of water" to cool temperatures in the winery and keep the humidity relatively high in an energy efficient manner. There is also a luxury retreat and restaurant located on the property.
