With a rich history, the Mexican father and leader of the Independence Priest Miguel Hidalgo harvested wine grapes in the 19th Century in the same land in which the grapes that produce this wine are cultivated today. Guanajuato is Mexico City’s most proximate wine country destination sits at elevations of up to 6,500 feet. Soils here are composed of loamy clay, which helps retain moisture in the semi-desert climate.
