On the nose it is expressive and fruity. Mature red fruits standout such as plums, cherries, strawberries and redcurrants, over a base of violet flowers and roses. After some airing in the glass spiced aromas from the oak begin to appear such as clove, cinnamon, vanilla and a slight touch of tobacco and toffee.\n \n Producer Information\n González Byass is one of Spain's best known Sherry bodegas. It is most widely known for its flagship brand Tío Pepe, although it produces a full range of Fino, Manzanilla, Oloroso, Amontillado and Pedro Ximénez sherries. González Byass was founded in 1835 by Manuel María González Angel and Robert Blake Byass. The González family were responsible for installing Spain's first electricity and running water at the plant, and have been involved in various other winemaking-based innovations across the country. Today, the company has expanded to include 14 wineries producing hundreds of different wines and spirits from Spain, Chile and Mexico. The Tío Pepe brand was the first produced by the company in its founding year and has grown to be an iconic Fino sherry. In 1886, it became one of the first registered trademarks in the country with the logo of a sherry bottle complete with guitar, wide-brimmed hat and red Andalusian jacket. Produced from 100-percent Palomino grapes, it is aged for a least 4 years in American oak barrels, following the solera system.
