Shafer Vineyards' 2021 Red Shoulder Ranch Chardonnay is a medium to full-bodied, balanced, and elegant wine from Carneros, California. It is aged for 14 months on fine lees and is barrel fermented in a 75% new French oak and 25% stainless steel. \n The wine has a seductive aroma of white flowers, lemon peel, honeysuckle, cloves, and flint. It has a satiny texture and loads of stone fruit, with scents of oak laced apple pie, peach preserves, and ripe pineapple. It also has hints of allspice, candied ginger, and praline. \n The wine is produced from small-clustered clones of grapes selected for their low yields and distinctive flavors. Fermentation takes place within individual oak and stainless steel barrels using native yeasts.
