Pale silver straw in color with a slight green tint, our Sauvignon Blanc displays aromas of lime zest, delicate florals, and lemongrass. In the mouth, flavors of minerality and lively juicy fruit lead to a long, refreshing finish.\n \n Producer Information\n Clos du Bois is a California producer located in Sonoma County with close ties to the history and development of the Sonoma wine industry. It was founded in 1974 by Frank Woods and the first commercial wines produced were a Chardonnay and a Pinot Noir. Clos du Bois now has a large portfolio and its production is over one million cases annually. The company has a selection populated by wines at a range of price points, but are mostly made from varieties common in California and Sonoma – Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc. In 1978 Clos du Bois introduced Sonoma's first Bordeaux-style red blend, while Frank Woods was also a significant force in popularizing appellation and vineyard designations on California labels, favoring them over brand names. Clos du Bois began with a relatively significant amount of land for a new winery: just over 210 hectares (520 acres). Over the course of its history it has been an advocate for sustainable and green vineyard practices. The winery has over 4000 solar panels which provide almost the entirety of its energy needs. Woods sold the winery in 1988, eventually leading to its purchase by beverage giant Constellation Brands Inc. The winery and brand were among several lower-end Constellation brands sold to Gallo in a deal that was approved in January 2021. Although the winery has since been mothballed, the brand continues to be produced.
